NOPI is a cheeky acronym for “North of Piccadilly”. Tucked away on a quiet street, NOPI marries Chef Yotam Ottolenghi’s penchant for bold flavours and fresh ingredients with bright decor, artistic flair and high energy service. Dinner here is an experience for all the senses, and is not to be missed if you find yourself in London.
NOPI is an upscale (read: not inexpensive) riff on Ottolenghi’s original London delis. White enameled walls, sparkling brass fixtures and vibrant art promise fast-paced energy, and the experience doesn’t disappoint. Service is brisk (two hour table turns are expected here) and conversation hums throughout the space. Of course, best of all the decor and the vibe match the vibrancy of Chef Ottolenghi’s signature approach to cooking – bold flavours in imaginative combinations that elevate ingredients and create memorable dishes.
We chose a series of small plates – along with unique cocktails and some truly sublime wines – that allowed us to sample as much of the Chef’s cuisine as possible in one visit. And we were not disappointed.
