Grasslands National Park is a spectacular wild space located near the small town of Val Marie in south-central Saskatchewan. It is one of the Canadian national park system’s true gems, and yet is one of the least visited National Parks in the country.

Part of us is disappointed that so few people get to experience the magnificence of the gullies, mesas, open prairie and rolling hills of the Park. But, in truth, another part of us is glad that so few people make the trek there. The unspoiled lands and vistas are a big part of what makes this place so special; too many visitors would put significant stress on this fragile ecosystem and impinge on the magic of this vast, wild land.

It’s impossible to fully capture the grandeur of this place with either pictures or words. But if you choose to camp and hike in Grasslands National Park we promise you that you won’t regret the journey. It’s a life changing experience.
