It is difficult to speak adequately or justly of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or cheerful, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent.
While London is indeed a magnificent city, it’s also expensive! We don’t travel to London as a destination. We only transition through London to other places, enjoying it for just a short while on the way to our next adventure. Heathrow to London
The Underground – London’s subway system – can be accessed from Heathrow airport. We’ve found this to be the fastest and most cost effective way to get into the city.
London by Train
The train system through the UK and Europe is amazingly well established. We discovered an app that made planning and booking a breeze!
Side Trips
Canterbury Cathedral
This atmospheric Cathedral is the bedrock of Anglecain Christianity and one of the oldest in the country. We are not religious people, but our experience here still managed to touch us in a meaningful and lasting way. Those as passionate about history we are will find this a worthy visit.
